The Italian one is amazing

Watched the show with German dub, I think Lights VA did a really good job throughout the show, but he definitely couldn't catch the laugh that well. Also when he says "I'm Kira" it is translated to "I'm this Kira guy" which just sounds weird, but was probably due to better lipsync. Italian is undoubtedly the best, followed directly by Japanese and English imo.

While I admit the Italian version might be the winner of the most impressive laugh (that was on VA's 1st try btw), I'm sorry to say that my favourite Kira laugh out of all of them still has to be either English or Japanese (mostly English) cuz they're just iconic & I've simply gotten attached to the Eng dub of this anime. Not only that, but it also has a sorta childish tone to it just like L described him as having.

As a French Canadian, hearing the French version of Kira’s laugh is… holy shit… that’s exactly how I averagely sound when I am laughing in all sincerity. I think I already have lost my mind and I didn’t know it. German sounds like someone told him a good joke.

What highlights the Italian dub in my opinion, is that the voice actor for Light (Flavio Aquilone) was just as young as the character was when he began dubbing the series. He perfectly captures the youthful, composed and model student appearance that Light shows off for most of the series, always natural and on point. When Light acts out as Kira, he also manages to capture the maniacal arrogance of Light's god complex, but this scene is where he truly peaks. Considering that this is where Light's entire image shatters, where he's finally been caught with no chance of escape, the way he breaks down is pure perfection, he starts out almost sobbing, and as he's doing that we don't see him on screen so it really let's you imagine that Light might actually be crying at the fact that his scheme fell apart, but then this crazed evil laugh erupts out of him right as he's on screen, as if he's finally lost it, but really he's just showing off what he had been keeping in for so long. For all this time Light was always laughing like this in his thoughts, or behind closed doors, because he couldn't let others see what he was truly like under the mask, but now there's no point, so he lets it all out, the laugh he had been keeping in as he believed that he had won before Near revealed how they got him. After finally exhausting himself from laughing he admits it, proving L was right. The original Japanese voice obviously delivers the perfect laugh already but out of all of these, the Italian voice is the only one that matches it beat for beat.
